I wanted to reinstall UT3, so I ran CCleaner and uninstalled my initial copy. So far so good...

I've been trying now to run the setup.exe from the UT3 disc and no matter what I do I keep getting the same error. Firstly, there is no option to install...ony to uninstall and to launch. Launching fails, of course, and when I try to uninstall, I get the errir "1628: Failed to complete installation".

Windows uninstaller still lists Unreal Tournament 3 and cannot uninstall it.

When I try to force the setup directly, UT3 first tries to uninstall and fails...

I deleted all my temporary files, scowered my registry and deleted the only UT3 entry I could find (not sure if there are more), deleted all of the UT3 folders I could find...and still no dice!

    Could anyone lend a hand??

I usually get that if there is registery left over from a bad uninstall. I find a proper uninstaller like "Your uninstaller" and a good registery cleaner like "TuneUp utilities" gets rid of these errors. Manually you can delete the whole register folder for UT3 manually (regedit, or maybe CCleaner has a reg editer?) to make the computer stop thinking it has the program installed when it isn't. Hope this helps a bit.
