If these were $200 cheaper, I'd seriously consider picking one up.

I am seriously thinking about just moving completely to google's chrome / android platform in the next year or so. Hard to leave what I am using now, since it's working really good. Just something about the new stuff from google is appealing!

Let others be guinea pigs. After GP is done, buy it. Spend your cash wisely!

Exactly what I am doing. Even though the pixelbook is SOLID! So is the pixel phone lineup too (besides the notch).

The buggers keep drawing me in. I am close to saying screw it, get a pixel 3, pixelbook and pixel slate. I am getting more and more frusturated with Microsoft and their handling of windows 10. I am on a see saw right now, one min I love it, next min I want to toss my notebook across the floor. Ha ha ha.

You can go for Pixel slate and Pixel 3 but pixelbook needs atleast 3 years to mature and that's the perfect time W10 will be junk and to be removed.

why you would get a pixelbook and pixel slate? They are basically the same thing.
Pixelbook prices have never been lower, but you have to balance the price vs End-of-Life for the device.
Personally I am waiting for the Pixelbook 2 next year.
Also on the horizon is chromebook's Alt-OS (aka dual-boot) coming soon which will support dual booting win10.

Form factor, no matter how you slice it the pixelbook is just to big and heavy to use as a tablet. And the slate is not as good as a laptop. Therefore for me, both are required.
