Just jumped on GoG and they have a count down timer to their "Biggest Announcement Ever".

Anyone have any ideas what this might be?

Maybe they'll sell games that aren't just old anymore? Like d2d but no drm?

I would automatically jump on it instead of using Steam if they also have similar sales.

Meh, I have too many games on Steam to ditch it now.
Yes, I'm one of those people who sometimes buys cheap games just for +1 in games list.

GOG.com and CD Projekt RED invite you to CDP Summer Conference - General discussion - Forum - - GOG.com

Guessing it has something to do with the above.

I love GOG.com, i'm glad to see them get more business from the larger publishers. How's this for a tease.......System Shock and System Shock 2 and Full Throttle and Grim Fandango. :D

I really really hope their next Title is dedicated to the PC mainly and maybe eventually to xbox720/PS4.

We need more developers risking/venturing in the Pc market, if they do so people will actually have an incentive to buy new Computers/laptops activating a life giving cycle to the industry.

And then we can actually be somewhat independent from console development.

This does not look a pipe dream to me, with 600 dollars you can buy a decent computer way better then the consoles and nowadays(even more the rest of the decade)we have billions of people in the world that could potentially be interested in a game if it is innovative, novel, realistic, artful and etc

EDit: I think the world right now is in a transformative state, so there are many things that could change helping and advancing this type of scenario or somewhat similar ones, the point is to not get stuck with 6 year old hardware. (8 year hardware if the release of consoles is 2013)

^GOG is a store for PC games, most of which are PC exclusive and aren't sold in most stores anymore. They don't develop anything.

The people who run GOG do develop games though, hence the reason why the Witcher 2 is available off their website for retail even though it's a new release.
