I recently procured a CF-31 mk2 with Win 7, Gobi 2000, factory gps, and a 500 GB HDD. The machine is a lot quicker than my CF-31 mk3. I build cell towers for a living and use the hell out of my 3G WWAN. It is relatively fast. But I was wondering if a Gobi 5000 with 4G/LTE would be any faster. And if it is faster, what all besides the wwan card would be needed?

It is quicker in what way?
Saying it is quicker is vague.

I was wondering if it would make the upload/download of data any faster than the 3G network it runs off of now.

Download speed of 4g should be faster than 3g. On paper it is anyway.
But my real question is, Why is a mk2 faster than a mk3?
    Are they both i5's?
Maybe format and reload the mk3.

To upgrade the WWAN, the card itself should be all that is needed. Get a real Panasonic card.

I just did a search on your previous posts.
I am guessing that the CF-31 mk3 was an error and you meant CF-30 mk3. That makes more sense.

That was a typo by yours truly. Supposed to have read CF-30 mk3. I apologize for the big clods I call fingers! Typing on a phone is not one of my better qualities.
