I see it like radji does as well, but at the end of the day I would politely bow out. It's proper etiquette in doing so.

OK - to extend social minefield parameters, we split mainly because I didn't want to commit. Her parents and I have never really discussed that bit.

But her Dad still prefers you over the guy she's marrying. That's got to count for something.

Not really, they're comfortable and Backup Guy ( :D ) is actually in the money industry.

It feels kind of weird anyway, as you might expect. I've already declined but I was wondering what you lot would do since this was the relationships thread.

Not sure if I should post here or in the WIBYRN thread..

One morning last week, I could tell my gf was running late so I got up and help her pack up her bag and made her coffee. This was a terrible mistake. 5 times since then she has started waking me up to see if I'll help her get her stuff together and make her coffee because she's running late. On top of that, she insisted on working on her homework in bed last night night which meant I was going to be up late (mouse clicking on top the of light of her screen = me not sleeping), but I was OK with it because I could sleep in today. Nope. Got woken up to help her get ready, again. She's lucky it's our anniversary today or things wouldn't have been as smooth this morning!

Lack of communication is the number 2 cause of divorce.. Marriage is number 1 of course. I know your not married but same terms apply. ;) :D

Lol, we talked about it already. Communication is one thing we made sure we were good at early on. It might not seem like it in the moment, but having the truth and being angry is much better than sweeping things under the rug and being ignorantly happy. Now, that being said, learning when to keep your mouth shut is just as important!
