    Hi DelFang, one more question:
In my country I do not get 500GB mSATA ... So I bought a 500GB SATA.
Then, my idea is to replace the HHD 1TB with the new SSD 500 GB SATA. And use the Sata SSD 500GB as system disk.
Any problem with this? I hope no problem!

I'd recommend against that: I tried same thing with 1TB 2.5" SSD, the system freezes after login, makes it totally unusable.

Will you be able to buy two 256GB mSATA to replace the two 128GB mSATA? You can set them in the same RAID as before so they will be read as one SSD by the Windows.

You'll have to clone the system to a external hard drive first, then make a recovery USB thumbdrive to clone the system to the new set of SSDs after replace them.

    Regards.

You can try to install a new system in the 500GB 2.5" SSD if you want to (after remove the two 128GB mSATA SSDs). If the new OS doesn't work, you can always format the 2.5" SSD and put the two mSATA SSDs back in. This way, you don't loose any file in the current OS.

    Regards.

Has someone tried to repaste the GPU & CPU of the P35X-v3 with Liquid Ultra?
I have seen mentions of this in older posts, however I cannot find feedback on the results.
Also has the application of CLU caused any issues on the CPU, GPU or the cooling pipe surface of this laptop in the long run (assuming it was applied correctly)?
So far, I have tried IC Diamond and Gelid Extreme. The resulting temps have been very similar.
I just ordered CLU and think of giving it a try. Any feedback would be very welcome.

An additional inquiry is whether someone has successfully installed 2133MHz DDR3L modules on this laptop.
Again there was mention of this in a previous post, but no response or feedback was given.
Owners of Asus ROG laptops have mentioned that G.Skill modules successfully worked at 2133MHZ, without changes in BIOS, on the HM87 with i7-4700s series even though this frequency was not 'officially' supported.
I am wondering if this is also the case with the P35X-V3.

    Thank you!

That was me. Using the laptop now, haven't re-pasted since (although I haven't done any more benchmarking either!). See Page 150, Post 1500 which summarised all the tests I did at the time.
    Hope that helps!

    Hi Sparkle999,
Thank you for the response on this one!
Just to confirm, you used CLU on both CPU&GPU, right? Both CPU&GPU temps show considerable improvement over using Gelid Extreme or IC Diamond.
Would you have any tips or pictures of the repaste that you can share? I will be repasting in the next few weeks.
Other than this have you had any performance or other hiccups that may have caused concerns over the long term use of Liquid Ultra?

I got the 1080p p35x v3 with 980m 8gb and like it except the noise factor. I have read the forum from page 357 to 299 and at this point have done the following.
Made a usb backup of OS, pulled out the 128Gb OS Msata and replaced it with a 1tb Samsung EVO Msata. Installed windows 10 clean from a usb stick using media creation tool. I did this a a few days ago and it didn't require a key for activation or any upgrade from 8.1. It seems to include the nov 12th updates as far as i can tell and is not asking for any more updates. I updated bios and most of the drivers from the Gigabyte site and then again quite a few more from the included update program. Then I installed XTU and undervolted by about 60 mv and downclocked the 3rd and 4th core to 27. I haven't repasted, if i can find my artic silver from 5 years ago i will. I haven't messed with my fan speeds using the included utility either.

I am looking to decrease the fan noise as it is still pretty loud when gaming. Can anyone advise on this? I assume using the msi program to downclock the video card will help or should i achieve this through fan settings?

So far i am having no problems with the windows 10, other than initially some HDMI sound issues when connecting to tv. Strangely it was saying it was getting the sound from Intel, not nvdia, but perhaps that is normal with with this architecture?

Is there a way to search this thread specifically or a good FAQ somewhere? Still got 300 pages to read.

Thanks to anyone taking the time to answer question/s..

Other than the noise this laptop is almost perfect for my frequent travelling for work and being able to fire up a game once in a while with a smaller foot print. 1400 on Newegg seemed like a pretty good deal.

Once i get this all going good long haul is to Try dual booting macOS on this as per Jhax1 who made a nice video on youtube.

Other longer term plan is to put 2 seagate 2tb HD's from removed from costco enclosures in and perhaps another 1tb msata but that seems like overkill based on the price.

    Hi,
I have been trying to find the BIOS mentioned on your post, however the latest version for the P35X-v3 is FD0E / F015.
Where did you come across it?
