The extra $200 also gets you a blu-ray writer, instead of DVD. I'm sorely tempted. But I'm trying to get an idea of the fan noise compared to the P34G v2. From what I gather, the original chassis (P35K v1) was quite a screamer.

    Hi,

as I am considering buying a P35G v2 or P34G v2 I had had some questions towards Gigabyte. Gigabyte answered them within a few days. Maybe the answers by Gigabyte are of interest to some of you and since I always like reading the notebookreview threads i thougth it's time to contribute.

    1. Question: Do the P35G v2 and P34G v2 have a Maxwell or Kepler GPU?
Answer by Gigabyte: The P35G v2 will have a Kepler GPU and the P34G v2 a Maxwell GPU

    2. Question: Which SATA Versions are available for HDD/SDD and optical drive slots?
    Answer by Gigabyte:
    P35G v2:
    2 x mSATA 6GB/s
    1 x SATA3 6GB/s
    1 x SATA3 3GB/s (if optical drive is replaced)

    P34G v2
    1 x mSATA 6GB/s
    1 x SATA3 6GB/s

    3. Question: Which WLAN NIC will be used for the German / European Version?
    WiFi Card: Intel 7260 AC

    Antwort:

    Sehr geehrter Herr Schlenzka,

    P35G v2:

    2 x mSATA 6GB/s

    1 x SATA3 6GB/s

    1 x SATA3 3GB/s (beim Austauschbaren optischen Laufwerk)

    P34G v2

    1 x mSATA 6GB/s

    1 x SATA3 6GB/s

    WiFi Card: Intel 7260 AC

    Mit freundlichen Grüßen
    Ihr GIGABYTE-Team

How long does it take for GenTech PC to ship? They say five to ten days to build and test the laptop. The only thing I have that's added extra is the thermal past and an extra 4 GB of RAM.

As long as it doesn't break my laptop, cause I wouldn't OC, I mean...come on..on such a thin chasis, that is ill-advised.

I'm really interested in this laptop and so, I would very much appreciate if you could answer the following questions:
What are the temperatures of the keyboard? Had CPU and GPU already reached 100C ? (with dust or high room temp)
How long does the battery last with wifi, movies and full load?
Is the fan noise like the p35k or is it quieter?
