I live next to Spain. It always seems to be the case where the Spanish batch of laptops are in a great shape. keep hearing about major hardware issues in laptops from other areas, but never in Spain! Even the return rate is very low.

I canceled my order from Newegg. They gave me a $200 discount on an Aorus x7 v6 which brought it down to the sane price as the aero 15. Still not happy and I may return it but we'll see

Regarding hazmat issues and battery issues. All batteries shipped. esp in bulk via airfreight or boatfreight goes under a certain code. the IMDG-code for boats for example.
IN a pure professional speculation. (I work within the marine industry) The paperwork regarding the declaration of the goods for say UK-customs or even US-customs are in error. Could be simple things as a specification on paper not matching the reality.

If by any means the material does not match its specifications and are inspected by the authorities they are deemed illegal. If the issue is not rectified on site then the material will be denied entry and either sent back or kept in quarantine by customs.

So could be a shipping/paperwork issue on gigabytes behalf.

For normal consumers the Samsung note 7 is what comes to mind and the fact it was banned from most flights. But the true problem with lithium ion batteries in laptops. (esp when shipping them in bulk) is that they are Resistant to extinguisher methods currently used. For example aircraft cargo holds automatic Halon supression does NOT extinguish a batch of lithium ion batteries.
That is why global customs are getting more and more strict when it comes to shipping of "dangerous goods" and Especially batteries.

Gigabyte has confirmed there are no issues with the battery, and that there has not been a recall issued by them.

Watch for a statement put out by Newegg either today, or tomorrow, apologizing for the miss-information they provided.

Hey maybe Newegg pulled them to replace the Innolux WVA panels with the IGZO panels their review claimed was being used. Easier just to fix the review and video, but that would be good customer service...

    Or not.
