Try this. Watch the "Behind the Scenes" video, before watching the movie trailer... IDK, it might help :D

Watched the trailer. Was I supposed to laugh?
IMO, completely unfunny and no, I don't say that because it has an all-female cast. I say it to a lot of movies which I find unfunny, regardless of the cast sex.

Yeah, it's a really bad trailer, or a really bad movie, or both.

The behind the scenes video gives a better impression than the trailer...so sad.

    They spent $154M making this?

There were only 2 Scientists (Doctorates) in the team in the first movie, not 4... not even 3... sheesh.

Too bad they didn't wait and release the trailer on April 1st, it would have made a great April Fools joke.

Ugh. No, just no. I'm OK with reboots. As long as they reboot it tastefully. This is nothing but slapstick for the sake of slapstick. Like a bad late night comedy skit or parody of the original film. I was hoping it would have been a bit darker than the original with some deep satire and dark humor. But instead it's a Vegas light show with lipstick.

It's not just us nerds either, YouTube like/dislike says it all:

Curious how Sony will react to this. Either this trailer is really, really, really bad and those that put it together should be fired immediately. Or the movie is just really, really, really bad in which case they should go to VHS immediately... even a solid cameo from the big BM can't save this film.

I would find it hard to believe they could recoup their budget based on this train wreck.

Here's a fan made trailer that actually makes it look presentable, but good thing Sony put there's out there because it shows its true colors:

They should have cast Uma Thurman, Jennifer Lawrence, Sarah Silverman, and Whoopi Goldberg...

A new trailer went up from Sony on the 9th, shorter, and better?

Intro now says 30 years ago, Four Friends Saved the World... :)

Or, you know, hire a better screenplay writer.

Both published on March 31st, 2016, not April 1st... :)
