As above, I'm trying to come to an understanding of upgrading to an NVMe is worth it, is there a performance boost that will be noticeable loading windows and general app performance?

The laptop is quite snappy bootup in under 5 seconds already.

    Cheers.

Saving large files will be faster, but probably not a whole lot of change in day to day use.

You won't see any differences in terms of booting. 5~6 seconds is the fast average everyone has seen on booting.
The advantage is that you would retain great performance even after long term of usages.
