Anyone know why my Starcraft 2 FPS always stays stable (and low?) Yesterday I was ALWAYS 60 fps and now today I'm ALWAYS 30 fps...

Yeah, I'd like to know how we can have our spec like that. Sure, we can up the clocks, but the driver version is old on ours. And the card can run at PCI-e x16 @ x16 whereas HP has it @ x8. I think this + clocks is why we have lower pixel fill rate and bandwidth. I doubt we could do anything about the @ x8 issue though because it's the way HP manufactured the card with this notebook.

specced like what? our cards are perfectly capable of similar overclocking??

he simply overclocked (mostly likely by reflashing) the 6770m to 875/1125.

not to mention the 3dmark11 score isn't completely impressive - at 800/960mhz i was able to get 1760, whereas he goes all the way up to 875/1125 for a measly 37 gain to 1797.

The PCI-express 2.0 @ x8 provides more bandwidth then you could ever use.Only high-end desktop cards like the GTX580-590 can benefit from the full 16 lanes.
On another note,i OCed my 6770m to 850/900 (can probably OC it more)and got a gpu score of 7120 on Vantage. If i increase the voltage a bit i could certainly reach 950/1200 with a bit of luck. But then again,i dont want my card to reach temps over 80-85 so i wont.

What is the latest non-buggy driver for the 6770M? I know I'm going to lose the ability to switch between Ati and Intel grapics, but I hear the performance improvement is worth it. Anything, i.e. official/certified links, are appreciated. Thank you in advance for the help.

ur not going to lose the switchable graphics. i'm currently using 11.5a hotfix while still able to switch to intel. all you have to do is to install the new versions OVER the stock drivers - without uninstalling the stock drivers first.

How you are getting 10.5 for your HP AMD Driver when HP are offering 11.4 via Updates already?

Are there any newer versions of the display driver for the 6770M besides the one given by Windows Update?

i like to know the same thing, just checked amd's site and saw the 6770m was not listed as being supported in the 11.5 update.

I had to tutor for a while so I had my technologically competent friend install 11.5a hotfix for me. I later checked my pc and did not notice any differences (the layout and version id were the same as before). I went into start->control panel->uninstall a program and saw the only thing recently installed was "ATI Catalyst Install Manager", so I am assuming he went through with the update. He said he did "the usual" (saying yes to user agreement and sticking with the recommended settings), so I'm not sure why I can't access the 11.5a CCC. If you guys know how to access the new driver/interface, please tell me (I'm sure I'm noobishly overlooking something:eek: ). Thank you again.

The hotfix doesn't install Catalyst Control Center, at least not from the installation I did 2 minutes ago.
