Planning to upgrade from a G75VX (which is still awesome!) and the G751JY ended up on my very short list.

Clear details about specs seem to be scattered around different websites and forums and it's pretty hard to make a clear image for someone who is looking for one.

Let's talk about a few questions which came up while doing my research on this:

I found three models: DH71, DH72X, DH73-CA. I'd like to see somewhere a clear list of differences between them. Between the first two, it looks like we have a little more memory, bigger SSD and a different CPU. No idea what's the difference between DH71 and DH73-CA (is it only Canadian model?).

    1. Is the DH72x really worth it over the DH71? Honestly, the CPU doesn't seem that it will make any difference (4860HQ over 4710HQ), the memory is 32Gb over 24Gb which I also really doubt would make any difference in gaming so in the end I'd get a 512Gb SSD instead of 256Gb for about $500 more. Did I just answer my question or are there any other differences that I missed?

    2. Is there any difference between DH73CA and DH71? Would buying one from Canada be worth it?

    3. I'm considering buying it from Amazon. Is there any reason not to do this? Can you guys recommend any other retailer/online store? Basically I'm thinking about being covered in case of DOA so for making the choice I'd consider the price and the ease of returning it.

    1. The CPU may help depending on what you do, in gaming the impact wont be huge no.

    2. If the specs are the same the difference in region would be warranty support.

    3. There are plusses and minuses going for an etailer and reseller.

I probably would go for the higher model, simply because I would use it 4-5 years. Thanks to the higher specs, I probably never need to upgrade anything.

Well you can't upgrade the GPU/CPU so if you are getting it for a long time it may well be worth it.
