So the event error involving PCIe root port started happening after you installed 301.42 and still is happening after switched back to 296.10? Or it's been that way since you bought the laptop?

Only happen with 296.10 and 301.42? Have you tried older drivers like 260.99?

    No, wouldn't those reduce performance

It depends, normally the reduced performance is with newer cards not older cards. You have a very old card, 360M, and 460M's release is around driver 259, maybe you can try and see if you get error with those.

You said that the error has been up since 6 months ago, so it's not since you bought the laptop, do you remember what's the last thing you did before you saw the first ever PCIe error?

It could be, but so far he only mentioned changingthe VGA driver, well, still need more info regarding to that. The error he's getting only points to the intel processor pci express root port 1 d138, however we don't know what's connected to that root port.

Is there a way to find out whats connected to that?

I can't recall anything that I have done.... I was bone stock until I reformatted, the only driver I ever updated was the GPU. With this reformat, I have gone looking for updated drivers for everything I can as I no alot of the factory stuff is outdated/broken

Do you still have the GPU driver that originally came with the G51JX? Just to test if you still get error with that.

The very first driver for G51JX's 360M is 187.66. However, try drivers between 256.10~260.99 to see if you can reproduce the event error. If you still get errors then there are 2 possibilities.

    1. Not a GPU issue, could be that the other component is introducing the error.
    2. The issue is related to the GPU hardware wise.
