Just wondering if any other G2 users are having a problem with the Asus live update. I'm run Vista and it shows up in the systray but hangs when you try to select it. Right click on it and all the options are blank. Tried reinstalling it with the updated drivers but it did not help. Tech support was no help ether.

ASUS live update rarely works, its best to uninstall it and get drivers/BIOs from the ASUS site.

Please remove that, Asus Live Update is known for giving problems, and to be honest Norton and Asus Live Update are two important things to remove when you get a laptop.

Norton is a resource hog, so I suggest AVG Free and instead of using Asus Live Update instead stay here on the forums and watch what others do, or just go to the Asus website and download the drivers that you feel you want to update.

Most people look for Video drivers, and BIOS updates.

    (T.O.!! Yeah, I'm in Sagga,)
Looks like I'll have to take it off. Funny there's a blank spot on my system tray where it used to be. Like the icons there just all tabbed over one spot. Maybe uninstalling it will help.
I'm not really liking vista too much. Looks like most of the drivers and apps were rushed. Anyone know if Asus is still updating the XP drivers for the G2?

Thanks for the info Milestone. I'll be doing that.
Do you know if there is an AVG free version for vista? Does it get rid of trojans and spyware too?

Hmm, I personally don't like Vista myself, I prefer to use XP Pro because of the drivers and gaming performance. At the moment I am not sure if AVG Free is available for Vista, you may want to google that.

AVG will do trojans, as for Spyware, I use 2 programs, Spybot Search and Destroy which does a quick clean, and then I use Adaware for a deep clean of spyware.

Once again you will have to google it and see if they are available for Vista.

If not you may want to find alternatives until they update their programs for Vista, provided you want to keep Vista.

Asus should be updating drivers for XP, it wouldn't make sense not to, you can check the website, download all of the drivers, double and triple check you got everything you need, before you start installing XP, if you do so.

    Yep. Avast works well too.

Asus Live update? oh yea. update manually instead. That software NEVER works.
