    DO the 4850's work in a area-51 m15x?

    no i dont think they will, i dont think the bios will recognize them, but you can use the 3870s. i could be wrong though.

    What the.... where do you get that from? IF 3870s work, I see absolutely no reason the 4850s wouldnt. Do you have any foundations for this? Or just a hunch? Link to a thread?

    i read it on another fourm, however since i cant find it, we shall relegate my comments to the "hunch".........category,although i would be willing to bet money that it was a bios support problem, that the bios didn't recognize the card and wouldn't boot up properly. ill keep looking for it. i guess the best way is for the guy to know is to buy it and give it a try, if it doesn't work there's no shortage of people who would want the 4850 for close to what he paid for it if not more......=0)

    I sent you an email, but I see now your in WI. I wont be back in Chicago until the 3rd. So that might make it a hell of a drive ;-)

    If you want to wait until then, no problem. (unless I dont have them anymore).

    got my SSD today
    thanks again Jon!
    this thing is ridiculous! 28 second boot time whereas it took nearly 2 minutes on the old HDD.
