Specifications: Two GTX 880M's for sale. Taken out from my Alienware 18 when opened for changing thermal paste on cpu. They were not used last two years when I switched to intel gpu. Even before that they were almost not used for gaming.
Can sell them with heatsinks and SLI cable.

I was sure I did enter the price..
Anyway I am unsure what to ask for them. Checked on ebay and price varies a bit. I am willing to sell everything (GPUs, heatsinks, sli cable) for reasonable price.

Apologies if I managed to post this originaly in wrong place :)

The price of 880M brand new is still a lot. Used, is entire different story. Even the heatsinks are worth 50$ generally from my experience(I do not personally sell these or have not for years). But you need to have an asking price in this part of the forums, otherwise people may not bother.

Looks like they can be picked up on eBay for about $250 to $275 (USD) each.

How is it compared to a 970m?

Not as good as 780M or 980M. 970M is quite a bit more powerful. The 880M was kind of an abortion TBH. It had a lot of driver-induced weirdness for the first couple of years that seemed to subside in time. 780M was more stable and less temperamental, offered nearly identical performance. I'm pretty sure it was just an NVIDIA scam to have something new to sell to notebook gamers. It did offer twice as much VRAM. A big to do about nothing. It seemed to work A LOT better in a Clevo than an Alienware. They had some really odd throttling problems installed in an Alienware for some reason. The same was true for 970M and 980M. Clevos ran circles around Alienwares with those GPUs. It set an 880M SLI world record installing a pair of them in a Clevo, but they ran like total crap in the Alienware they came out of. No idea why. Got to love all of that Alienware behavioral weirdness. I guess some things never change.

There is at least a 20% improvement from a 880m to a 970m. That’s crazy lol. I got mine undervolted and capped the tdp at 65w and I still get the same results if not higher than a regular 970m. Nvidia really did make big efficiency moves in the 9th series. But nothing will top pascal. I remember buying a Clevo p651sg 2 months prior to pascal and I felt like **** seeing the gtx 1080 and even the gtx 1070 mobile absolutely smoke the 980m :)
