Yeah and that gtx 1080 cooler is hard to come by, @matyee you can tdp mod and overclock the gtx 1070 to gtx 1080 levels bro. But if you tdp mod a gtx 1080 it can reach very high levels of performance pushing rtx 2080 laptop like performance but that will produce a load of heat to dissipate too...

EDIT: Basically what I'm trying to say is that msi did a solid job on these gpu's, they don't tend to have any gpu die issues or vrm issues. They overcompensate with the vrms so people like us can mod the cards :D

It is compatible, it will perform similar to a RTX2080 without raytracing if you modify the bios (increase TDP), otherwise it will perform like a GTX1080 :)

If the Tornado never had this card inside , it is not compatible, in a way of cooling it. You would need a whole new heatsink , or buy a GT63/GT83VR (1080 model heatsink) and modify it.

The card will be compatible though.

Thx for your answer. I had already gone thru this process, however I did not remember the layout of the card :) I know that new heatsink is needed, also other bios in order to have verified nvidia driver w/o inf mod.

Actually I have made a post in the thread how to put this card in, some mod is needed but not a rocketscience :)
