    6990M out perform the 485M.
580M & 6990M are almost equal. But the 580M has the CUDA feature in plus.
In my opinion, if you need the GPU to help the CPU in processing (CUDA) or/and you have no problem with money, then go 580M. Otherwise, go 6990M

Someone has to videotape it exploding.

Just kidding. Check out user 'widezu', he has a 6990m in his m15x. However, its of a different make than these.

I have a similar one although mine is from Dell. If you don't have a XM CPU then I highly recommend it. It is very good and performs well. If you buy from pkhetan then you'll likely need hwinfo to control your fans.

I kinda get the idea, but still wondering if it could go with my M15x . Does the "backplate and screws" problem exist like the Clevo's 6970 ?

Just use your current backplate and you shouldn't have an issue.

I wish someone would have them in m17x r2.So m17x r2 would be the greatest 17 inch laptop. And about fan manual control, would it be needed with clevo's vBIOS on GPU's?Can it be like with clevo's vBIOS on 6970m?

Uh, the backplates are in fact different on the higher powered newer cards like this. So if you use one from a 260m or 280m it might crush some components on the back of the card.
Of course, then you'd have the option of replacing the screws instead if they different too.

A user ichime has CF 6970m in the m17x r2.
