Anyway to prevent my XPS 9570 to automatically updating BIOS? I like 1.6 for the color reproduction and last time I opened Dell update it went to newest and I had to downgrade back. I would like to keep everything else updated but the BIOS. Is there a way to lock it into bios 1.6 forever?

    1) Turn off Firmware Capsule Updates in the BIOS
    2) Uninstall Dell Update

Yes sir, disabling Firmware Capsule updates prevents BIOS updates through Windows Update and Uninstalling Dell Update will take care of it not nagging you to install the BIOS update.

    Good luck.

And then just update whatever I want through dell's website for new drivers?

You're most welcome. Feel free to ask if you have any other concerns. I had an XPS 15 9570 and an XPS 15 7590 recently so I know them pretty well.

Yes man, I liked the XPS 15 7590 a lot and man it had one of the best screens I've looked at in terms of crispness and brightness (Had the Sharp 4K Touch screen) but it had the 9980HK CPU which the laptop struggled big time to cool down. Throw any serious workload at it and it immediately goes to 99C then thermal throttles to 2.7 GHz even with a -125mV undervolt. I also tried the Alienware m15 R2 at the shop, same exact story. I then came to a conclusion that you can't have one of these high end CPUs in such a small chassis and thus had to go with the Alienware Area-51m
