    Refers to the ESR version.

Firefox is the only browser that received top marks in a recent audit carried out by Germany's cyber-security agency -- the German Federal Office for Information Security (or the Bundesamt für Sicherheit in der Informationstechnik -- BSI)

The BSI normally uses this guide to advise government agencies and companies from the private sector on what browsers are safe to use.

Firefox users are being targeted by malicious sites that exploit a known bug to lock up the browser betanews.com | Nov 5, 2019

Users of the Mac and Windows versions of Firefox are being targeted by malicious sites that display a fake warning message and then completely lock up the browser.

Hackers are taking advantage of a bug in Mozilla's web browser to tamper with the software and render it unusable without the need for user interaction. At the moment there is no fix, and the problem is wreaking havoc and causing distress.

^^^ am always impressed by hacker's abilities to discover things possible to do :O) But that one is seemingly not affecting security, but surely a frustrating annoyance for anyone hit.

Mozilla bans all extensions that execute remote code
by Martin Brinkmann on November 05, 2019

Mozilla added a number of extensions for the Firefox web browser that execute code remotely to the organization's blocklist in the beginning of November. The bugzilla listing shows only IDs of the...

Maybe they should ban all sorts of extensions. And not only those who execute code remotely:D
