    Hey everyone

    I'm on the latest bios and have the Kaby Lake R3.

    In the bios, the only options for express charge is 'on' or 'auto'. Is there anyway to turn express charge off in order to reduce battery wear?

    On a side note, how do I know if I have g-sync? I can't see the option in the NVIDIA control panel.

    Use auto instead of Express charge.

    What is the difference between 'auto' and the previous 'off' option on previous laptops?

    According to me, Auto = Standard Charging and Express charging automatically kicks in. If your battery has <10% then it might express charge until 70% and switch to standard charging.
    Off=Standard Charging.
    Never use express charging because both charges the battery at 52-60W per second/minute which is really bad and increase wear level.
    So IMO, if your battery is less than 20% then switch off the PC for half an hour and let it cool down and then charge it. You will observe lesser wear level.

    So, Auto = Standard Charging, unless under 20%.
    Cheers!

    Its just a hunch. Normally all batteries charge fast until 75%.
