    Hello, I am a professional wedding photographer. My current primary work station is late 2015 iMac 27" 5K i7 4GHz with 32GB RAM + 1TB SSD, my primary usage is digital image processing using Lightroom CC and Photoshop CC & 4K video creation using Prosho. I've ZERO gaming interest.

    General Questions

    1) What is your budget?
    - Under 1500 USD.

    2) What size notebook would you prefer?
    - 17'' screen.

    3) Where will you buying this notebook?
    - USA.

    4) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like?
    - I'm primarily using OSX / Apple platform but I dont have specific preference of Mac / PC, I'm open to both, and with my budget would prefer PC laptop over Apple.

    5) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?
    - Yes, but as a secondary choice. Must be open box or grade A certified refurbished.

    6) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook?
    - Digital image editing, editing videos and watching youtube with 10 chrome tabs open.

    7) Will you be taking the notebook with you to different places, leaving it on your desk or both?
    - Yes if needed, but I've other laptops for portability so this will be more like secondary work machine within home, prefereably in my bed instead of being in front of my desktop in my study room all the time..

    8) Will you be playing games on your notebook? If so, please state which games or types of games?
    - No need for any gaming.

    9) How many hours of battery life do you need?
    - About 4-5 hours.

    10) Would you prefer to see the notebooks you're considering before purchasing it or buying a notebook on-line without seeing it is OK?
    - Online is OK.

    11) What OS do you prefer? Windows (Windows 7 / 8), Mac OS, Linux, Chrome OS, etc.
    - Windows 10.

    Screen Specifics

    12) From the choices below, what screen resolution(s) would you prefer?
    - 4k screen is MUST have with absolute best display quality possible in terms of color display. Good sRGB, brightness and contrast.

    13) Do you want a glossy/reflective screen or a matte/non-glossy screen?
    - A IPS screen.

    Build Quality and Design

    14) Are the notebook's looks and stylishness important to you?
    - No.

    15) When are you buying this laptop?

    - By March end.

    16) How long do you want this laptop to last?
    - At least 4 years.

    Notebook Components

    17) How much hard drive space do you need? Do you want a SSD drive?
    - At least 256 GB SSD already.

    18) Do you need an optical drive? If yes, a DVD Burner, Blu-ray Reader or Blu-Ray Burner?
    - It is optional.

    I've used both, and I would say the SC17 is much more suitable for this line of work. The panel that EVGA used is incredible.
    The problem with the 17r4 is that Dell no longer equips them with the good panel they originally came with.
