I don't think anybody makes 300W. Even proprietary PSU's. We will see either 330W or 240W with this. Guy on forum was most likely throwing out number based on requests

If I remember correctly... Razer make their own 250W who isn't the standard. Design trump functionality and powa!!

Since I live in Brazil, electronics cost double what they cost in the US. So everytime I come to the US I either buy a new notebook and sell my current one in Brazil for the price I paid, usually even for a bit more, or buy a notebook for somebody charging commission.
So, my SC17 1080 arrived and it is a nice looking laptop, very clean design without the usual "gamer" details as from other manufacturers. Very solid, no flex, built like a tank so heavier than what I would judge from the photos.. Since I am on the bus to phoenix to get my flight back to Brazil, I will do tests and such if anybody would like. Using the overclocking presets and stress testing with OCCT and FS loop the temps were decent....but I need to test more extensively to reach any conclusions. I was considering the Alienware, but from what I read, it needs work to get the temperatures in check and I prefer the EVGA clean look.
Since I have no experience with overclocking and such, I wil be asking for tips, i.e multipliers, voltage etc.
Eventuallly I am interested in a repaste with LM to see how far the cooling on this machine can go.
i did open it briefly to remove the HD and couldn't quite figure out, with the quick look, how to remove the heatsink.

my first firestrike score using the superclock preset.

    https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/23162697?

This the FS result using the normal preset.
    https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/23162856?

Since I never had an HK chip or a K desktop chip.....my question is....can I undervolt it like I do with an HQ chip? especially under a normal multiplier.....and if I decide to overclock by adjusting the multipliers is undervolting not recommended, maybe even the voltage has to be increased?

overclocking the GPU a little more than the superclock preset.

I still have to figure out the details of the machine....but with a cpu and gpu overclock, running occt with fs loop for over an hour, the cpu temps get into the hte 90s....GPU temps mids 70s max. No overclocking same stress test Cpu lows 80s and GPU high 60s.
I am looking for heatsink info to try a repaste eventually.

Those are good scores at stock paste but GTX 1080 can do a lot more.
You can undervolt it w/o any issues. You can adjust all cores to use same multipliers instead of locked ones like HQ chips.

Although EVGA claims a Bios made for overclocking, it does seem somewhat simple to me....not a Prema Bios or anything, but then again, I never had a a performance machine like this....my last machine had a GTX1060. Will post Bios pics now.....heading back to Brazil in a few hours.

@bloodhawk, sorry for the quality of the bios pics.....taken outdoors and quite a bit of reflection.
