Sounds great! It would even better if dGPU could be made optional. Some of us are not gamers or benchmarkers but need lots of CPU processing power and at the same time have no or limited use of a powerful dGPU.

Same for me, yes please, so if in the case the gpu fail, we can continue to use the laptop (beside choosen cpus) until issues are resolved, right?

So may be a new bios for making compatible z170 motherboards and 6-cores coffee lake 1 cpus? Or something with ryzen for the moment?

This (MUX) is the only way it would be acceptable. The Micro$lop equivalent to Optimus would absolutely SUCK. It needs to be one or the other iGFX or dGPU, reboot required to switch and the other disabled, but not hybrid garbage alone. Hybrid switchable graphics is still possible as a third option (like Alienware M18x 'SG Mode' - which is nice for fixing bricked GPUs) but the most important thing is for the iGFX to be able to be completely eliminated for the majority that want that. Otherwise, please keep the iGFX trash disabled. It also needs to have a control option in the BIOS that is accessible to everyone with stock BIOS or modded BIOS.

Having the ability to continue using the product without any GPU in an MXM slot, if necessary, is an excellent benefit.

does that mean eurocom will only skip z370 in F5 and F7? or skip z370 all in general including clevo's line up?

thats some awesome stuff, probably by far the best news ive heard in years for LGA laptop. good thing we got both clevo and MSI model.\first the MUX, then confirmed CNL to have minimum 8 cores this would bring laptop a tad closer to desktop and actually worth buying it.

now the only concern left is that intel mentioned there will be NO desktop CNL, so 2nd gen 10nm should be tiger lake which comes in 2019 so im not exactly sure how this will work. also if there is somehow 10nm CNL that will come to desktop platform my worry is that silicon will not have time to optimize. take broadwell first gen 14nm for example, max OC is like 4.3ghz.. very low
