I don't think I've seen Newegg Canada give out such deals before.

Maybe they Kaspersky or Dr. web or Windows Defender.
I don't think they will be infected since they will running state of the art next gen AV with ML in their server as endpoint protection.

ESET HQ cannot be infected even if they wanted to infect themselves on purpose. They have been in the business for 30 years [IMG]

Don't they test Malwares in a containment? You know it better than I do.
Do you actually use Layered Protection or just Eset or F secure AVs?

Other than the numerical difference, is there any realistic difference or advantage to buying the 1 year ESET NOD32 Antivirus 2018 vs 2017?

Newegg has the 2018 version for $39, just like the ESET website (which doesn't list a version year), but the Newegg 2017 version is $29. And cheaper still is Kinguin with an also undated version for $13.50, even if adding the $6 insurance it's less than $20.

Are all three pretty much equivalent?

it's all a marketing gimmick. Any ESET License would activate any respective product of any year / version.

You can grab a 2016 or 2017 license for cheap and they would activate the latest version just fine. That info is straight from the ESET Mods and from my experience of using ESET Products for the past 15 years

That was my thought, but didn't want to buy a cheaper one only to find out that the 2018 version "now allows scanning of .DOCX files!!" o_O

    Thanks for the info!
