    Hello everyone,

Just got a P775TM1-G with i7-8700k & gtx 1080 two days ago second hand.

Since the fan was often running I tried to undervolt the CPU with the control center utility.

I did a -150mV offset at first, then moved to -100 and it seemed to work at onepoint, but started getting the screen to blackout for a bit and then reappear.

Tried to reset cmos by disconecting.battery, reinstalled win10, reset bios, but issue is still there.

It freezes the mouse everytime I open a file or start a torrent or copy a file.

Could the RAM have been damaged by my tweaking ? I am a bit lost what to do next.

    Any advice?
    Thanks a lot,
    Stani

Hi, sorry for what's happening ,
If you reset the BIOS and cpu voltage is the issue still there?
It seems the problem is related to the GPU. If you are OC the GPU reset it to the default, and maybe undervolt with MSI Afterburner .
Check the temps for everything and see if there is any overheating in any parts.

Have you tried loading the BIOS defaults to make sure the settings properly reset.

I have not touched the GPU and to be honest, I only tweaked the settings down to lower voltage of CPU from 95W to 75W and Peak from 140W to 110W.

I was also lowering the voltage from 1.250 to 1.150 to 1.050 and the offset -50 to -200 to test different settings.

There was a memory option but once i changed settings to it, the system didn't boot at all after restart.

Then I made a cmos reset with battery removal, then it booted, did a bios reset, then fresh windows 10 and blue screen of death error in less than 5 min of operation.

Yesterday did AIDA64 EXTREME, on the GPU tests crashed only once in the begining, the CPU tests, crashed on all memory tests, blackout and then picture reappears.

I do hope it's the RAM memory, only one stick 16 gb, so tomorrow will test with a new stick and see if that fixes it.

Appart from that the CPU is delided, but the paste used from previous owner was left open for 5 years and needs a repaste. I am thinking liquid metal for best result and repaste of gpu as well.

I was so happy when I got it to run silent, without fans jumping in, as I am ok to lose some performance and get quiet, when I don't need to render video on the go.

    And feedback is welcome.
    Thanks,
    Stani

Yes I have. Saw the BIOS version is 1.05 and there is a 1.07.06 latest. If new RAM stick do not solve the issue, this will be my next attempt to fix the issue with a BIOS update.

Is a Prema BIOS possible on a P775TM1-G and what are the steps for that ?

    Thanks a lot,
    Stani

I have same issues behavior before with a system repasted with liquid metal shipped to me, I resolved the problem by cleaning up all of the LM very carefully and look around for LM coz sometimes it moves and touch other components, and I found some in different places. The laptop is working fine now.
If the laptop still under warranty it's better to send back to them for checking or maybe a replace.

    Good luck.

Sadly bought it second hand, so no warranty.
I does not have liquid metal yet.
Tomorrow is the day I will know what is going on..

The prema bios is not publically available, you can try asking but it depends how busy he is.

@Prema What are the steps to get a Prema Bios for a P775TM1-G ?
