    Hi,

i installed Windows Pro 64bit from the scratch on my Chronos. Launched the SW Update software installed all needed stuff. But, the Display Manager for the Easy Settings OSD is not to find there. Where can i get/download the Easy Display Manager for Win8? Can i directly download this app from Samsung site? Thanks alot, astragart

I think you will find that the functionality you are looking for is included in the Settings package. It installs more than just a configuration interface.

Hmm. The Easy Settings works, but i dont see any OSD i.e. when i switch to SilenMode. So there is no visual feedback.

I think Samsung turned off the visual feedback in the new version (Settings) because some people grumbled about the pop-up OSDs. It's possible that there's a registry setting. Look for dmhkcore, probably under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung.

@astragart: We had a very similar discussion just a few weeks ago, starting here.

Basically, I would avoid installing Easy Settings in Win8 as it was designed for Win7. The new Settings package for Win8 does indeed miss a few features that Easy Settings had, but it works!

As John wrote, Samsung skipped their vary fanciful OSD icons from Easy Settings when they developed Settings. I saw several complaints about those OSD icons -- particularly the one for Caps Lock. But I DO miss the one for Silent Mode.

The easiest way to check if Silent Mode is enabled is to click the battery icon in the taskbar tray: If the Power Saver profile is selected, you're in Silent Mode (unless you selected it manually).
