I dunno.. I use quick launchers to launch all my apps...

Windows + Q... type name of game....

If Steam/Origin/EGS whatever needs to launch to run the game it just happens.. shrug.. seems to be fine..

I should add there are a some drawbacks.. for instance Steam and EGS you need to create shortcuts and add them to the start menu..

I also use other 3rd party quick launchers and use Alt+Space (Keypirinha). It has a Steam plugin that works really well, and I just point it at my game library folders on my game drive.. the only one this has an issue with is Microsoft Store apps since they are all protected. There's a way around that though to create links for it.

MS power toys has one I haven't tried, but I'm guessing it doesn't work with Steam games.. I had gotten in the habit of creating shortcuts and dumping them into the start menu folder to solve the Steam problem. Probably would work for that.

I like ZERO icons on my desktop and to use shortcut key "type the name of the app" to launch things.

GOG is pretty good like the no drm factor, but I had no idea you could load other launchers with it, very cool indeed will check it out thanks.

Since 2.0 you can integrate other account into GOG Galaxy.
The beta was running for some time (first closed then open), but to the public it was released no too long ago.

I suppose I'm pretty strange when it comes to my launcher. I just create desktop shortcuts of whatever game I install and then drag them into this old version of Razer Game Booster. I don't know there's just something about having a small, non-intrusive window to start a game from.

Just responding here because I was about to start working on a Keypirinha plug-in for UWP/MS Store apps and noticed someone already wrote one.. lol.. That pretty much solved the final puzzle for me, I can now launch any app on my machine regardless of platform just doing alt+space and typing a few characters.

I still haven't tried PowerToys Run from the MS power toys, which looks like almost a direct copy of Keypirinha on the surface since it's also extendable with plugins/modules.

Finally we will be able to start leaving behind the awful Origin client. I've stayed away from EA games for years to avoid that crap called Origin.

I hate to break it to ya, but most of these previously Origin exclusive games still require you to launch them from Origin when you buy them on Steam, similar to how Uplay games on Steam work.

I just subscribed to ea play on steam is 5 bucks and very awesome.....games install on steam and origin installs and runs in the background....before i was paying 21/month

    AFAIC

buy ea play on steam, buy game pass and profit as it's unlikely you will need a year to play and beat the games you want to play, massive savings
