Hi All - great thread - I'm on the brink of buying a E6410 - can any of the owners comment on how good audio is? I have a D430 at the mo and the sound is appalling! The mini 9 had way better speakers!

    Cheers,

    [Mart]

notebook speakers should be banned because they pollute our world with crappy sound; no matter how "good" they are; every 4$ portable speaker set is better...

sorry man but that's not a cool answer. I guess everyone knows what is the limit that they can get from laptop's speakers. So i guess he point was to know what is the quality compared to others LAPTOP. If you don't like laptop's speakers, it doesn't mean that everyone does the same.
I don't know how many laptops you had in your life or your tested but there are several differences among all laptops even if those are minor differences.

They are night and day better than the D430.
Voices are really clear, music is even passable at low volumes.

Dezoris - Hope you are enjoying your new laptop i'm strongly considering purchasing one myself. Were you able to get a weight on your laptop with the 9 cell battery? I'm interested if its still under 5lb? Thanks.

he doesn't need to do it, you are able to check it by yourself. Since i already checked it on the laptop's manual that you can find on dell's website.
The computer weight is 1.95kg (4.30lb)
    Batteries weights are
    4-cell 235.87 g (0.52 lb)
    6-cell 326.59 g (0.72 lb)
    9-cell 480.81 g (1.06 lb)
    12-cell 848.22 g (1.87 lb)
so just sum it up and you will get all info about weight

Yes i believe the 4.3lb rating is with a 4 cell battery and ssd. So with that in mind a 9 cell version should be around 4.84lb. Thank you for the information willian. However just because dell posts a 4.3lb rating doesn't necessarily mean i believe it. The change in battery size will be the biggest weight difference however i would assume some of the other options such as HDD vs SSD would make very small changes to the overall weight. I prefer to get ratings from someone using it in the real world as manufactures claims aren't always true. With that in mind if you get the chance it would be great if you could check for me thanks dezoris.
