DV7 isn't charging battery...

    my notebook isn't charging my battery.. it was on 10% ( i was gaming so noticed it too late it was so low..) i plug it in the fan goes mad spinning... i hover the mouse on the icon it says, on A/C, Batter isn't charging...

    What the hell happened?

    have you already checked your battery using the hp battery health check tool? or it could be that the charger is not working properly anymore

    yes and it's good, the odd thing is it's charged now, for 96% but it just stays and says battery osnt charging...

    ooh well.. maybe it's just vista:)

    Do the following:

    Turn off the notebook. Unplug the A/C cord and disconnect the battery. Hold down the power button on the laptop for 8 seconds. Reconnect the battery and plug in the cord. Everything will work. Repeat as needed.

    uuh.. hold don power butten and at the same time recconect the battery or are al just single steps??

    Hold down the power button after everything is disconnected.

    Just so you know Jeremy, Infamous essentially had you reset the system including the battery sensor/indicators.

    No, reseting the computer in that manner would NOT cause you to have to restore the data on your whole computer, if that is what you meant. If you had to restore the data on your whole computer it was because of some other issue.
