If I could save 500 dollars, this model ( 1005 ) has everything I need, except one thing listed.. G-sync. Does this specific model have it? I know many reports have GT73VR's having G-sync but it not being listed, however I can find no reference to the 1005 model and G-sync.

    This is the 1080p 120hz screen. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074XLYVHV/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Spec sheet does not list it https://us.msi.com/pdf/nb/GT73VR TITAN PRO-1005.pdf

    Losing... mind.. slowly

    Thanks

Please do yourself a favor and do NOT get a 7700HQ model under any circumstances.
why are you trying to pair a GTX 1080 which NEEDS CPU power to show its legs, with a castrated BGA slug that is locked to 3.4 ghz on all cores??

I have done countless research over the last week on these laptops.. the best combination was a clevo with 8700K.. I am well aware of what you're saying.

The difference between the 7700HQ vs the 7820HK is negligible in gaming aspects ( even overclocking in gaming from the benchamarks was barely noticeable ( which are the only two CPU's offered that I'm currently looking at )

I don't give a crap if it " shows its legs ", dances around the room and gives me a peep show. I am content with running 1080p, at 60 frames - 120 frames, with GSYNC, which the 7700HQ along with the 1080 GTX is more than capable of producing.

Do you think I'm stupid? Do you think I haven't done CONSTANT research about the subject, I do not need you coming in here, completely derailing the thread, and trying to degrade the entirety of this thread.

I appreciate all comments that pertain to the question asked at hand

The options I have is a 1070, with a 7820HK, or a 1080 with a 7700HQ.. that's it. No clevos, no xoticPC, no dancing around looking for some magic bean of a laptop or waiting for mother mary to come and grace me. IF you can answer the question ( DOES THE MODEL 1005 HAVE G SYNC ) I would appreciate your time. IF you come back here, to get into a pissing contest with me. I swear to you, I have no energy for that.

Lol now I see your signature and you have a 7820HK, you were acting like you had a desktop CPU. You come in here with your mobile processor spouting how I shouldn't have one that in all aspects will perform pretty much the same? For the love of god. A 7700HQ with a 1080 will have far more room than a 7820HK with a gimpy 1070 regardless of the bottleneck from the 1080's power. This is the last I will respond to you regarding this UNLESS we have a fruitful conversation regarding my ACTUAL question pertaining to model 1005

PS, from the retailer I am shopping, the GTX 1080 combo with 7700HQ is the same price as the GTX 1070 w/ with 7820HK.

Go look at some gaming benchmarks and tell me that the better combination wouldn't be the latter instead of the former. I saw literally 1 - 5 frames on an OVERCLOCKED HK difference with the same GPU ( let alone the difference between the 1080 / 1070 AGAIN regardless of bottleneck, and I have no plan to re paste or LM my damn CPU for a couple of extra frames.

I see you're new to these forums.
My 1070 benches FASTER than a stock laptop 1080.
    Just fyi.
Might want to get educated before you flame me.
Sorry for trying to help a newbie.
On my ignore list you go.

Great for you, and I see " modded to full desktop power " so I'm sure you're correct. The part where I disagree is you coming in here and implying the i7-7820HK is somehow going to benefit me vs the i7-7700HQ regarding gaming aspects solely.

Did I come off sounding rude? Probably over did it yes. But I have literally spent days and days and days looking at all of this crap. Am I an expert? No.

Unless I went the clevo route and paired a 1080 with a 8700K, it will always be " gimped " and I have no intention of re pasting, or using LM.. so I don't care about a higher benchmark with a 7820HK, I just want something that works and work this shall indeed. THANKS for your time. Your " full desktop power " 1070, if it is indeed more powerful than the 1080 mentioned here, then that means your 7820HK will also be the bottleneck, no matter how well you re paste it, smother it, or sing praises to it.

Edit : 1 frame difference between the previous gen HK during gaming vs stock / overclock

HK vs HQ for gaming ( video leaves a lot to be desired but it’s in the ballpark )

    https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/help-needed-7820hk-or-7700hq.18778807/

Don’t be like me and get caught up in the BS over 0.1 stock difference.

If you do not plan to re paste / monkey around with your settings a 7700hq is FINE. If you can get the 7820HK go for it, but I can’t find any with the current setup I want.

It appears the 1005 does have G-sync capability however it is not listed anywhere. Good day people, just buy from somewhere with a good return policy.

We're talking about a GTX 1080, not a 970m. It is obvious that it'll make little difference with the 970m, as the bottleneck will be the GPU, not the CPU.
With a 1080, you'll get much more than a '1 fps difference' between 3.6 GHz and 4.1 GHz. Not even talking about power limit throttling in CPU intensive games...

Just made a quick test :

MSI doesn't advertise the screen as G-SYNC even though it is. You'll have to check the screen model number using AIDA64. check the screen model in my signature, that one IS a G-SYNC screen
