Do you think that laptop screens with 240Hz or 300Hz are a gimmick?

I have a 42" FHD TV 2 feet from me on my desk.

I have a 4k 70"(75"?) in the living room. Its 60hz, and has terrible input lag. For consoles its fine, but I can no longer enjoy any system with 60hz and/or input lag. Hence why I prefer 1080p144hz and everything else to be IPS for its viewing angles.

Couldnt care less about OLED at the moment when they still have burn in.

I have no interest in a 4K120hz 65" TV. Consoles cant drive those frames, and children still like to knock them over because everything that is a display is a phone or tablet and Im not the type to police children because I spent too much money on a television.

I use IPS because 1. cheap, 2. more often color accurate, 3. viewing angles. When OLED is as cheap as IPS is now, dont have to think about burn in then its allowed to be on the table for discussion.

Otherwise Im quite satisfied with my 5x 1080p75hz panels, 1x 1080p144hz TN, and 42" FHD TV I got for 40 USD locally.

I dont live in as much abstraction as you do, wish I could as it seems much easier than my own methods, but I am functional in my materials.

I know I know model number... dunno why it isn't included in the website... Contacted the website dev.
But AUO is maybe better with colors .
    There is one more website
    https://www.laptopscreen.com/English/screen-part-number/LQ173M1JW03/
But you can buy it on aliexpress from many sellers.. https://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20201230044458&SearchText=LQ173M1JW03

Here is Asus with your sharp screen : https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-...S-laptop-review-Frontier-runner.481169.0.html

And here is with auo screen : https://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-...ints-with-a-fast-300-Hz-display.448620.0.html

    https://www.ultrabookreview.com/38784-asus-rog-scar-17-review/

Sharp :The Scar 17 has to do without Nvidia's image enhancement G-Sync. In return, the 17-incher supports Optimus GPU switching.

AUO : The built-in 300 Hz panel pleases with short response times. It also supports Nvidia's G-Sync technology.

My laptop has a 144 Hz AUO panel that supports G-Sync, I'm pretty happy with it. 240 or 300 hz might be nicer in theory, but I'm perfectly happy with 144.
