do you really need a gtx 1080 for gaming 1080p?

That’s effectively sub-900p. Is BO4 really that demanding/unoptimized or are you trying to push like 240 FPS?

It's really not noticeable on a 15.6" 1080p screen. If you look hard enough you'll notice it (in static screenshots) but in motion it doesn't look any different because I can still discern other players fine. I am mostly trying to push for a higher fps to see where the GPU temps top out at.

    fps > res

I can’t imagine playing at sub-900p in this game. From the screenshots I’ve seen, it already looks very blurry at native res due to the TAA.

It's not very blurry at all.

I’ve recently upgraded my AW 18 from 980m sli to a single gtx 1070 and I can play games like the Witcher 3 on ultra settings at well over 80 FPS. So in my opinion even a 1060 will be good enough for games on the market now and for the near future. Thermals have been a problem with laptops equipped with the 1080’s and personally I’d rather have a GPU that is sufficient for my needs rather than having a laptop with a GPU which I probably don’t even need to play games which I do and plus have problems with thermals.

Have a look and you let me know if the 20% drop is enough to cry over spilled milk.

Yeah, I would say the left half is blurry enough to impair visibility for me.

That's just a static case, would you notice it in motion?

Plus Siege has some really good upscaling tech.

R6S uses checkerboard rendering, so that's a bit of a different case.
