I just bought a second hand Spyder4 Elite Calibrator for like £60 (Spyder5 is latest) only used 5 times according to the seller.

I have an 20" IPS display on my machine.

So i just calibrated the display (took like 10min) and i am really happy with the increase in colour saturation the screen looks more alive.

@Tinderbox (UK) do you have any of your displays fast switching between calibrated and uncalibrated profiles every time you connect some USB or Bluetooth device?

I just received my calibrator today so no problems yet, I will let you know if anything happens.

I just tried plugging and plugging an usb stick in a few times and nothing so far, I have disabled the Spyder app from loading every time as i don't want to room brightness monitored, So as long as the calibrated profile stays the default one i will be happy.

I use DisplayCAL instead of the spyder software. To my eye it does a much better job, and it does a much better job of managing profiles. May be worth a shot, it's free, but it takes ~40 minutes to calibrate a display.

I did not know there was 3rd party software available, It`s great for older devices that manufactures stop supporting in newer OS.

    Thanks
