    Hey.

DLink DIR-655 Very slow, unstable Wireless connection, HELP.

I have full connection speed on wired connection, but when using wireless it is very unstable and download speeds very slow.

Sometime the internet will work full speed on wireless and most of the time it lags alot and very slow.

    I have Cable internet.

    Firmware: 1.34NA

I already did factory default, reset router, still nothing.

    How can I fix this?

How far are you from the router?
What type of security are you using WPA(2)....

Run a scan with InSSIDer and see if maybe you are getting a lot of channel crosstalk.

Also, that router is under powered (which will eventually create more and more issues) so the signal will rise and fall a lot.

Make sure that you are using the same wireless channel on both D-Links and that the firmware is up to date.
If it doesn't help- don't be surprised DIR-655 is one of those routers that should have never been crated.

Did you recently upgrade the firmware? The Dlink forums have a ton of people who upgraded the firmware and then everything went to heck...

I wish I could say that surprises me, that router has a very long history of that.

If you have the money, ditch it and buy something better, that router has been a lemon since day one.

The first version of the DIR-655 is one of the best commercial routers around. The second and third versions were good as well. After that, all downhill.

I would disagree completely unless you want to claim that routers were/are OK but firmware is and was hopeless- that I could agree with.
