Disable Avira AntiVir's Advertisement/Popup

    Same. I like it better than any other free scanner since it's low on resources and detects more in-the-wild and known viruses than most other scanners.

    Wow, I didn't know Avira was okay with you disabling it. I thought it was just one of those things you have to put up with.

    Edit: Oh wait, it looks like it doesn't apply to Avira Free. Don't know if it works then and I don't care to test it either because I already have Avira set up.

    Yes, it does work with Avira Free. The other one doesn't even have ads, does it?

    Yes, no ads when you have pro, it's for upgrading from free to pro.

    Avira won't let you post on the forum about getting rid of the ad that pops up during updates but the elitekiller links directions work. The way I look at it, it's like disabling any service in Windows etc. you don't need or want.

    As far as the start up screen registry hack that Avira gives directions for, I noticed on my system, I needed to delete "min" at the end of the parameter before typing "nosplash" (without quotes)

    You can add a new update job and have both activated.
