For the past few weeks I have been having difficulty accessing forums. Particularly older threads, but sometimes new ones. Using Firefox and Microsoft Edge. This is the typical error message.

Sometimes you’ll get that due to our firewall ...I don’t know what I can do about it unfortunately. The browser doesn’t matter. Message me if it happens again and I’ll see about collecting more detailed info from you.

Thanks Charles. Has the indexing changed on the board sometime this year? The addresses I see in the browser bar seem different sometimes so I think this has to do with slightly older threads, maybe those that have been closed to discussion or were archived. Sometimes it doesn't happen but it usually does.

This is very frustrating as this site is a goldmine of information.

Example of when I have problems. For example, I search on the NBR search box for "R22" at the top right of this forum:

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/forums/dell-xps-and-studio-xps.1049/

Hit enter and get to this page

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/search/27475779/?q=R22&o=relevance&c[node]=1049&c[user][0]=676211
    "Search Results for Query: R22"

If I select on a thread frequently the error message pops up. This just happened.

Try this. The easiest way to search the forums is to use Google. Use a query like this:
    Site:forum.notebookreview.com my search terms

It should be faster and have more accurate results than our basic forum search.

Thanks Charles. I have used google before and it is also hit or miss, sometimes coming up withe the same failure page. Google links have worked fine for the past two days.

That said, the forum search bar still stinks and was the best for searching within a specific sub-forum, with a specific user. I know the forum software is a bit buggy and there is nothing you can do about it.

    Thanks again.

Getting similar error messages searching with google as suggested.

Also, similar error message a few times when I typed the website directly into my Firefox browser:

Ok. That link seems to work for me. But message me your browser details and general location so I can review.
