I don't know how reliable Wikipedia is but there's a comparison here

I myself am buying a laptop in the next few weeks, and I've decided on NOT taking the Pro version because I don't think I'll be having any use for the extra features as it is for home usage.

I am going to use my laptop for home, school and work (development) - windows 8 64 means home edition ?

What I see is that Windows 8 pro 64 laptops are quite expensive.

Any suggestion on this laptop ? HP ENVY m6-1125dx

There is no physical difference with the laptops. Really it isn't a laptop question, just an OS one. If you want the extra features in Pro get that or upgrade to it from the standard edition.
