Now that I own a CF28 and CF18, and I'm eyeing off a CF29 to buy, I started wondering if there is a definitely guide to the differences between each model of machine in the CF1x and CF2x families?

Specifically, differences between CF18 and CF19 systems, and also between CF27, CF28, CF29 and CF30 systems.

Given that the Panasonic toughbook configurator is so anal and will not work with Firefox, etc. it would be nice to have a good reference (which should ultimately become a 'sticky' topic) on changes between models so a newbie or an experienced toughbook enthusiast can quickly learn about the differences for whatever reason.

    Craig.

The CF-27, 28, 29 & 30 have been talked to death and there is at least 1 thread in detail about that. A search will turn up more... No need to have a bunch of threads about the same thing... We have too much of that now.

The CF-18 & 19 is a little different but I'm sure if you compare the Panasonic PDF bulletins on both the differences will stick out. That's what I do. They are available everywhere on the Internet.

First: Cf-18 and 19, they have dif..rent designed allmost all hardware except for a few cover.

Second: Cf27,28,29; can be use to each other are only cd rom drive, floppy drive and a few keyboard. And for cf-30 only keyboard on cf-29. You may use the battery but you need to cut the two plasic tab/guide on its end to use on cf-29 same on 18 and 19. This is only an idea, I never recommend it.

Well honestly there are many different features on each unit the possibilities are almost endless with all the options you can get.

I added it as an attachment at the bottom as it would not format correctly in here and looked stupid.

If you see any errors or can add anything let me know

    Thats better:
2 pcmcia slots -1 pcmcia slot and 1 express card slot

and my CF-18 reach 6hours batterie life, the CF-19 7.5h, the CF-29 10h if everything is in 'Max. Battery' (under NHC) and the brightness is the lowest.
