Why does Dell refer to the system memory as "Shared"?

    Thanks in advance...

All DELL system memory controller chips have an inbuilt secret routine which "shares" some RAM with SETI, the search for alien intelligence people.

I know this for a fact, the truth is out there.

This is greatly worrying to me, I can't pull the trigger on an L702x if the faulty chipset issue is still ongoing. This would be a major foul up be DELL, if not somewhat illegal, but it's DELL so nothing would surprise me.

Could the forum please rally round to get a definite answer on this one.

    HM67 rev. B2 faulty
    or
    HM67 rev. B3 fixed

I think we all need the low down.

    TY.

Latest chipset utility seems to be "gigabyte sata 6 check software".
forum member veenie claims it can detect the B3 rev. HM67.

can anybody with an L702x run this utility to confirm the chipset.

    TY.

    Hi everyone,

My order need to cancel again tomorrow morning, one more time. I am wrong again. I need 4 Ram slot, for sure!!! (Virtuallization)
I did choose i7 and FHD (3D), and didn't go for 555m, don't need high speed graphic, (never play game).
And I just check out the configuration I ordered. This time I try to put in 12GB, and the error come up right away.

So no more guess work now!

Need 3D (FHD screen), i7, and graphic 555m all is need, and very expensive one

    Good luck

If DELL are still shipping the faulty chipset then they are scumbags, I'm still not sure. Still could be a software glitch in CPU-Z and the gigiabyte Utiility.

If this can be confirmed by DELL or otherwise, all shipments of the 'new' L702x should cease immediately.

Anyone with the L702x in hand should demand a recall.

This is a big issue people, too big to ignore.

    More testing please.

TY. sorry i got a real bee in my bonnet over this one.
