    Just ordered XPS 13.
    Estimated shipping date: 1/30/2015.
Applied a $100.00 discount coupon. But after the Sales Tax, it really doesn't feel like a discount.

    TC.

anyone notice how they're charging $50 for Mcafee and it can't be removed. Look at the order details in your order confirmation.

So c-net has a review posted here

    Dell XPS 13 (2015) review - Page 2 - CNET

And in this review (with the 3200x1800 screen) they claim their battery test got 7 hours. Now I understand manufacturer battery claims are never 100% accurate....but 12 vs 7 seems like a really big difference. Is this because of the kind of test they run and in "real world" use it's probably closer to 9, and the 1080p version is closer to 12? If so, I can live with that.

On dell's website they specify where they got their battery life numbers from. 40% screen brightness and a program that browses webpages.

Cnet's test is videos. Granted, the macbook air almost doubles the performance. I'll have my xps 13 on saturday hopefully. I'll let you guys know how it performs.

The air has a much lower res screen so I guess that helps longer battery life with video playback.

I'm hoping the 1080p model will get north of 10 hours with "normal" use and less than 50% brightness. If it does that, I'll be happy.
