It will FIT, but not sure if it will boot. I know the Alienware M18x series doesn't really have a blacklist for MXM cards so I don't see why the Dell Precision series from the same year would either

It would probably boot just unsure what the bios would read it as.

It shouldn't matter if the BIOS says nVidia or Unknown as long as he's able to modify the INF in the driver it should work.

    Although honestly I'd take a K5000M over a 780m.

I would too, I'm not a gamer and the 5000m would kick the **** out a 780 in Creative Suite performance.

Even in games, K5000M has 1344 kepler cores, 780m has 1536 kepler cores, you ain't loosing much gaming wise. The jump in pro app performance is way greater than the loss in gaming.

780 probably has better DX support

I am very interested in the laptop. But since I'm new here I haven't figured out how to send a PM here. Just got an M6800 with a faulty screen that I am returning because it can't be calibrated with an i1 display pro. I have a thread about it. Anyways I have been looking for a covet since the IPS screen is 100% RGB and I'm a semi Pro wildlife photographer. Can you message me please so I can figure out PM here. Thanks

You will need at least 5 quality posts to have access to the Private Messaging (PM) and signature system. This is to stop spam created by bots.

After you have reached 5 posts you will need to wait for usergroup promotions which runs at 11pm EST every night.
