I have the i5 + FHD, no separate Nvidia card -- just arrived yesterday, haven't powered it on yet (have to swap out some parts/migrate data).

Will post here when I get it setup, hopefully won't be as loud as the trusty old M4700 blast furnace.

Sounds great, thanks! That's exactly the setup I am thinking of getting. Is the i5 a U or HQ cpu?

it's an H series (i5-9400H). In the past I believe that i5s didn't support hyperthreading, but they do now. This i5 is basically the same as the old Sandy Bridge i7 in my Precision M4700 with respect to cache size and thread count.

Haven't benchmarked yet but seems fast enough, and overall the system is running icy cold :), temps in the 30s/low 40s, which means the machine is for the most part entirely silent, almost like a fanless system.

When the CPU is put to work the fans are quieter than my old M4700 fans, which is nice. We'll see what happens once I get back to normal setup with many applications running, will certainly heat up the CPU and kick on the fans, just hopefully not as much in the old system.

Overall a very nice machine, and about 3lbs lighter than the old tank, not bad for $1.5K USD.
