Ok, since the last thread about this was flushed down the crapper. How about a thread for people who use it, or are interested ONLY. NO haters...etc...you people can continue on in that one! thanks!

I am very excited for this software to be released to the mainstream.

Some of the newbies here may not even know what you are referring to. Maybe you could post a link explaining exactingly what Dell Mobile Connect is.

Thanks Alex. Just got back here....

The big question now is, are they going to release it to devices bought before 2018?

I like the idea, but if this software will be limited to Dell, it won't likely be analyzed properly as if it was commonly available, thus some critical security flaw may go unnoticed for months and compromise end users.

Update: After reading more about the app, it seems to work through Wi-Fi Direct, which is nice and secure, at least in theory. Still, this may be concerning, especially on a rooted phone.

I don't root stuff anymore. Dell developed this, why would they give it away to other companies. it's a great feature thats only on dell. A great selling feature IMO.

    can you hear me now?

All joking aside, how is the responsiveness of the software? I don't even know if it would work on my 9560 or 9365.

It will work no problem on your 9560. I had to side load it. There is a little work around you do, no big deal at all. I am running it on my 13 5000 2 in 1. There is about a 4 sec. delay from the time you get a text on your phone to the time it rings in. I only tried it once with my wife, but It may speed up and smooth out after a few min running. It's really cool. Also, it sends back imessages from your dell too!
