A friend of mine has this old laptop that died all of sudden some time ago, at the time I tried contacting Dell and they told me about the process of holding down the power button with battery and charger disconnected, and for a while that fixed it then one day it died completely and there was nothing I could do to bring it back.

Now with the quarantine I'm trying to see if I can fix it even if just for fun but nothing seems to work, this is what I've tried so far:

    - holding down the power button with battery and AC disconnected
    - cmos battery removal
    - cmos and ram removal
    - checked if power is getting inside the motherboard with a multimeter (and it does get power)

of course this is just a quarantine fun project so nothing urgent, but if some of you guys have any ideas I'd be very happy to hear them.

    Thanks in advance.
