    What the hell is fast-sync?

I think the touchpads clicks 2 to 3 times louder than normal touchpads. I avoid the loud click via touch clicking, not press clicking.

Fast Sync essentially makes a tear-free experience when you're FPS is above your panels refresh-rate by dropping all frames past the panels refresh-rate. It does a great job while having a great input response unlike v-sync. It's enabled on mid range on up Pascal. I Iove it!

But, the Dell 7577 does not allow this because of Optimus. I knew this but did not realize Optimus cannot be disabled on this laptop.

What is the most interesting thing is that after watching many videos on this 7577, not a single mention of Fast-Sync not an option. While there's a backwoods way to make it somewhat function via NV Inspector, it's still not as good as the standard usage.

Also, we lose the ability to use Shadowplay on these units too. It's nowhere near as user friendly with the current setup Dell has on these. If Optimus could be disabled these issues wouldn't exist.

Yes, the touchpad is very noisy just as you said. You were not kidding!

You must be talking about G-sync? In the laptop world you can either have G-sync and no battery life or no G-sync and battery life...

Dell chose to build this as something that can still get multiple hours of battery life. Besides g-sync screens cost more money...

Interesting, so it's nvidia's own V-sync and is not a replacement to g-sync... No the 7577 does not support it. I've never even tried it on my 1080ti.

I have found a strange workaround with NV inspector but it’s not exactly a fire and forget solution.

How does Shadowplay work on the 7577?

Can’t record the desktop obviously because of Optimus too. Optimus is great, but having the ability to disable it would be nice too.

Yeah it would require a mux chip to switch between the two and there are very few laptops with the ability to have optimus or discrete.

That was rather rude. Sorry if I upset you.

I hope I wasn’t a burden to this thread. I’m just looking for answers.

    Thanks for your help.
