I did a clean install of Windows 10 on my Dell XPS 13 but didn't install any of the Dell Command apps. Are those even need or are they simply for corporations and remote management of the laptop?

Don't install any of it unless you need one of the "features".

The drivers are on the Dell site (type in your service # for the "exact" drivers for your laptop). I can usually get much newer drivers from Intel, nvidia, etc. at their sites as Dell is pretty slow on this.

Dell Command | Power Manager is the only "Command" app I use. It allows a bit more control of performance. But you can just use SpeedShift (and EPP).
