16" is not very conventional. Are they really dropping the 3, 5 and
Interesting... But as a non-conventional format, it would be hard to get a laptop bag with a great fit.

I wonder what’s the difference in size between this 16 inch laptop vs my current 7559 laptop which is quite big, but can fit tightly in my laptop bag.

edit: I saw that they rebranded the 15 7000 for 15 plus, so maybe we can expect a new 15 plus too?

I was looking for laptops bags and sleeves on the web and most of the size stop at 15".

That Inspiron 16 Plus looks SUPER tempting. It checks a lot of boxes for me
    • At least 6 core, guessing we will see i5-11400H units if not i7-11800H
    • Embedded TB4 (better for eGPU than external to the CPU controllers) without having to settle for 4 cores. FINALLY.
    • Hopefully I can get an i5 6-core without a dGPU or even better an i7, not a deal breaker though I could always disable it if it gets in the way of my eGPU, it's rare but happens sometimes.
    • If they use that 3K display up and down the line and not give the lower models only a 1200p display option that would be nice.
Can't wait for June through August or so to see all the H45 models drop. Going to be some good stuff finally.

One thing that gives me pause is Dell's common missteps. If this can manage to be a competitive unit from a quality perspective and not the typical wildly inconsistent QA shenanigans it might be a winner. They are probably going to have a lot of competition though, going to have to see what other OEMs drop as well.

Yep, that 16 inch is AWESOME. I wanted 2 in 1 so I got the 5406 on the way. Should work great for me. But the blue color and specs of the 16 is SOOO NICE.

I'm out of the new laptop game now. I decided to build an SFF desktop and move my 2070 from my eGPU to it. The Gram 17 is plenty of laptop for me to use in a non-gaming scenario, I still pretty much liked everything about it except it's gaming performance with the eGPU. It was fine, just getting long in the tooth CPU wise for gaming. And nothing on the horizon was really floating my boat much, especially for the price. So I spent $950 on desktop parts and built something that feels at least 2x the performance and saved myself roughly $1500. And I still have the eGPU enclosure in the case I want to use it again at some point when GPUs are sanely priced and I can upgrade the desktop to a 3070-3070Ti and move the 2070 back over to it.

Exactly what I did too. Bought the xps 8940 and finally got the drives and ram ordered for it and my 5406 when it arrives. The xps is for heavy lifting and the 5406 is a more powerful 2 in 1 than my previous version. So that will have enough power to do most things I need while on location. I am installing a 2tb ssd inside with 2 1tb ssd in an nvme case with a 4tb HDD in an enclosure for project storage after complete.

I understand all the benefits of having a desktop, but it's a very personal choice for each of us. Me for example, I don't have space for all those wires, a monitor and a big desktop and I don't really want to deal with purchasing each parts individually... I know nothing about which thing is compatible with what.

It was announced the Inspiron 16 Plus to be released June 3rd... Now it is and I can't find any news, any review, any nothing....

I get it. I purchased my system with the basics needed, and I will upgrade from there. As for the 16 plus, I would say by the end of the day or tomorrow, they will have something. I think its going to be a great machine.

Looks like it's been delayed. All websites wrote about June 3rd, but now Dell doesn't have any clues of what's going on. I wrote to sale support two times and they don't know anything about a release date and I'm not even sure if they know they have an Inspiron 16 plus coming... If only Dell could write an official post about this delay instead of keeping us in the dark.
