I know a SDHC card will work in a Dell 1545. What about a SDXC card?

It has a built-in 7 in 1 Memory Card Reader and it supports the following:

--- Secure Digital (SD) Memory Card
    --- Hi-Capacity Secure Digital (SDHC)
    --- Hi-Density Secure Digital (SDHD)
    --- Multi Media Card (MMC)
    --- Memory Stick (MS)
--- Memory Stick PRO (MS PRO)
    --- xD Picture Card (xD)

    Hope that answers your question.

Hi. I've been wondering the same, but SDXC cards appear to not be compatible with the 1545, after all...
By the way, do you still have that Ice Blue-Inspiron?? Mine has a Core 2 Duo T6500 2.1GHz CPU, and I'd like to upgrade it but I'm not so sure yet what Processor replace it with. Did you upgraded it by yourself? or did the laptop came with that one processor? From one Dell user to another, thanks!

Cool. It think I can still get some performance from my Dell for another 3-5 years, maybe. I would like to upgrade it the most: 8GB of RAM, a faster CPU and a SSD...
    Thank you very much!

Anything for the 1520 will work in the 1545, but you should look at the cheaper 1066MHz Socket P chips, which will also work (but don't in the 1520). I would recommend T9600.

I've been able to successfully install and use a 64GB PNY SDXC card in the onboard memory card reader. It's not particularly fast, but it works fine, and is detected properly as a 64GB storage volume.

I acquired this 1545 a few months ago, and upgraded the processor from a T4400 to a T9800. It's not only a lot faster, the battery life even improved, which kind of surprised me. Put in a small SSD for the OS drive, and the SDXC for secondary storage. With the faster CPU and the SSD, this should be a viable laptop for a while to come.
