Any idea about the 6820HK? Just curious if that could handle a 1080ti or not. I actually had a 1080 in my AGA and noticed similar performance to the 1070 that is built into the laptop.

Since AGA is PCI 3.0 X4 at best I wonder is I7 6700HQ capable of pushing those four lanes maxed?

People keep saying this but tests still show that with current cards 4X is not a botleneck for GPU's. You lose only a single a handful of frames.

    https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/NVIDIA/GeForce_GTX_1080_PCI_Express_Scaling/24.html

You lose about 5% with the AGA in use on an externa. monitor but unfortunately more when using the internal monitor. The 6700HQ isnt a bottleneck at all.

The 1070 and 1080 are already very similar in terms of performance, if you use a 1080 external without an external monitor connected you pretty much lose all gains.

Looking on 3dMark, I found a guy with a 13r3 6700HQ and 1080 ti who was putting up similar numbers to my 7700hq/1080ti combo. Mine had slightly better physics scores, but otherwise it was very close. No bottlenecking.
